The weight loss industry is a billion dollar industry, and fitness and health experts recommend to exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet. However, have you wonder and ask yourself which is better and more efficient, dieting or exercising? AsapScience has an explanation as to whether one is better than the other. But, before you watch the video, are you among those who want to lose weight, or already started your weight loss program? If so, which one you find more efficient, the diet or exercise route?

Now, let me share you my personal experience as to which one is a better route. A few years ago, more specifically back in 2012, I was overweight, and my wife, too. We ignore the signs and continue eating the western way. However, later that year, I experienced pains in my pack, neck, shoulder and all over. The grueling one was the back pain. Regardless of medicine I took, the pain keeps coming back and in some days I can’t even get off the bed leaving me lying there all day, and sometimes until next morning. So, I started exercising and instead of looking for a buddy, I encouraged my wife to be my buddy. She did agree, and we exercise for over a year, and we only lost about 8 to 9 pounds each.

The results were disappointing, but we do feel better, I admit. Instead of weeping on our results, I said why not we take a look at our diet. Then just like anyone launching a business, we did our research and compare our research with the people around us who are eating whole foods. We think we hit a jackpot as almost everything from our research matched the health conditions of the people in our community whose health are excellent. Unfortunately, there are only a few of them.

So, we changed our eating habits. We eliminate most of the processed foods including refined carbs of all kinds like white bread, pasta, and all packaged foods with refined carbs in it. Then, we also eliminated refined sugars including artificial sweeteners. I was able to drink my coffee sugar-free comfortably in just a matter of days. My wife didn’t, so I told her to minimize the sugar until for about a month she did drink her coffee and other liquids without sugar. We gave up sodas, too. Now, we eat mostly fresh organic fruits and vegetables. We don’t juice, but that’s something we’re looking into. And, in just a matter of one month, we were able to shed a significant amount of weight and in 3 to 4 months we were able to completely reclaim our normal BMI(body mass index). Additional positive things happened like blood pressure level go back to normal including heart beats. For me, the pains are gone and I can now do basic Yoga poses without any issues.

When I stumbled on this video by AsapSCIENCE and watched it, I wasn’t surprised that diet or nutrition in general, plays a huge role when it comes to losing weight. Yes, exercise is also important, but if you focus on exercise without taking care of the nutrition side, it would be an uphill battle.

Now, we thought of becoming underweight if we continue our eating lifestyle because of the dramatic weight that’s lost. However, one thing we noticed, we don’t feel any negative effects. Instead, we only experienced positive things. So, we continue with the diet since early 2013. Now, it’s 2016 and we still eat the same clean and healthy diet lifestyle. Through eating mostly organic whole foods, we neither gain weight nor drop our weight making us underweight. We stay on our ideal health, and at first, we can’t believe how effortless to maintain a healthy weight sticking to an eating regimen that’s clean and healthy.

Besides from those amazing things happening with us, our daughter also follows the healthy lifestyle we’ve got. Although, we still pay more attention to her by giving reminders because, at school, most of her classmates (if not all) are eating highly processed foods full of sugar and refined carbs and calories. At her young age, we have to be persistent on inculcating in her mind the importance of nutrition.

Another amazing thing happening, me and my wife’s sexual drive and stamina are pretty much ideal. We didn’t experience such a blissful action when were overweight and sick. I’m also particularly confident when I learned that plant-based foods can actually reverse erectile dysfunction. And, as a matter of fact, eating clean and healthy along with managing stress level to a minimum are effective lifestyle shifts to preventing sexual dysfunction.
